Monthly diary for the Midori Traveler's Notebook to make at home

A reader requested this. It is an insert containing a month-to-view diary layout that you can print out and make at home.

This is designed to work as a Midori Traveler's Notebook insert but will work equally well as a stand-alone booklet.

You can download the 2013 set and print it for yourself. The file prints double-sided on A4 paper in booklet mode. You can then bind the sheets into a cover and trim. This post will show you how.

Download the file here to get started.

Is it possible to make a PDF download for this? I'm missing the right fonts (and software; I only have OpenOffice for Mac) and when I open this file it looks nothing like it's supposed to :)
Thanks!

Sure. I'll get this up in the next day or two.

HI Ray -
Any chance of talking you into doing this with the week beginning on Sunday? It would make me like my midori so much better...thank you! Ana

Hi Ray,
Thanks for posting all the DIY for the Midori. I have been a Senior Pocket Daytimer guy since 1983. I have always wanted a little larger size but not in a notebook. I bought the Midori because it is larger and I can make custom inserts.

Am having a problem with the Monthly calendar. Once loaded in Word and navigating to "page setup" change setting to "book fold" but the result is not what it should look like. Paper setting is on A4.

I would love to know how to manipulate the Word file to create other inserts.

I will try the PDF for the lined notes and see if that works.

Thanks,

I haven't come across the "book fold" setting. If your printer doesn't support booklet mode you can download a program called FinePrint that will do it for you. I use it all the time and it works with all applications that print.

Ray,
That did the trick!
Thank you

Hi Ray,

Once again, thank you so much for making these!
I'm trying to slim down my TN a bit, so I'd like to switch to this monthly calendar for remaining months of this year.

The .pdf version opens beautifully; but when I try and print it, it really wants to spread out each page so that it fills more or less a whole A4 paper (which makes it much too big for the TN, of course).
Do I have to set it to print it in a certain percentage, or something like that?

You have to print in booklet mode. If your printer won't do that, Google an app called FinePrint which will do it for you.

Thank you for your help!

Well, it printed something, and it appears to be the right size - but it is not in the correct order in any way to be easily bound.
Guess I'll have to either figure out which page I want on which side etc, or educate my printer. ;-)

Hi ray, nice insert but I've always found with a block per day I was always running out of space on certain days. I ended up taking a plain ruled midori book; name of the month top of the LHS then numbering the lines down 1 to 31(or how many in the month) then letters for the days of the week.weekends are in a different Color. The RHS was left blank so if needed text could continue across. Found it works well because I only put text to remind me something on a day (meeting, dentist etc) the details are written in the weekly diary. At a glance I can see how my month and free weekends are planned out. Only using 24 pages of the book it leaves me plenty of space to have monthly expense pages too. Don't suppose you could magic up a line a day monthly template could you lol

I'll give it some thought.
